NARS on Madison Avenue ~ Laguna Bronzer Review

Hi Everyone!

Today my post is going to be a little bit of a review as well as a story from my New York Trip. When I was in New York I was beyond excited to go shopping and the best shopping and most fun was along Madison Avenue even though almost everything was out of my price range. But never the less window shopping was fun. Anyways we, the friend I was with and I, stumbled upon the NARS store on Madison Avenue on its grand opening day! What are the odds of that happening when I was only there for a week?

That day had been particularly humid which trust me does not due my hair or makeup any favors. That being said upon entering the NARS store I am sure I looked horrific. Frizzy hair and makeup melted off my face. Yuck! There was nobody else in there and since they had nothing else to do they convinced us to sit down and get our makeup done which I absolutely loved! The girl who did mine was so knowledgeable and friendly. I could never in a million years get my makeup to look that good again. She did amazing and it was so fun. The only downside is that there building did not have air! They did though have tons of fans so it was not all that bad and they should by now have up and running air. I already knew upon entering I would be walking out with something from this store so just because I got my makeup done is not the only reason I bought something. Though I did feel obligated to I was already going to. So what did I pick up my favorite bronzer Laguna.

Laguna is a beautiful bronzer and is the perfect color for so many people I feel. It looks rather dark but it goes on rather light and can be built up well. One thing that the girl doing my makeup did which I actually loved was that she used a darker blush and put it in the same area as the bronzer to add a little depth and trust me it does make a difference and it looks so good! I would recommend trying it out!

The bronzer does last all day, for me. I often have problems with makeup lasting all day on my face but this bronzer does last a long time I have found out which is always a plus. The bronzer is also so smooth when applying and is not chalky at all. The fact that it is so smooth also makes it easily blendable which I love.

Wrapping up our visit to the store our items where given to us in mini tote bags that say NARS on them and we were emailed all the products that they used on our faces and exactly what they did to get the look which is so helpful. The emails are also written out by the person who does your makeup. I loved this personal touch because not many places do that. A lot just send out mass emails but these ones were all hand done.

I would rate this visit very high and would love to go back and if you ever have time in New York City and love makeup do not pass up the chance to go to the NARS store on Madison Avenue I promise you, you will not be disappointed. The lovely staff and makeup were one of the highlights of my trip!

10 Reasons Why I am Happy Today

Hi everyone!


I felt like making just a random post today and I thought why not just tell you things that today have made me happy. In return tell me below why you are happy today. I think it is important to look at what good has happened during the day because normally we always look at what went wrong or what we should have changed. I really want to start a notebook or have a jar where I write down one good thing that happened that day and then I can look back and see all the good things that have happened and by then I am sure the bad things will be long forgotten. So...


Let's Get Started!

1.

I am going home to visit tomorrow. I am excited to see my friends and family for the memorial day weekend and tell them all about my NYC trip.
2.

I was able to lay around in bed all morning because I didn't work till 2pm. The dog across the street was also quiet for once and didn't wake me up early.
3.

In two weeks I will be going back to New York but this time with my mother but sadly not to the city but hey I get to see babies. I love holding babies they are just so cute!
4.

I got tips at work even though for my job we normally don't get tips.
5.

I started looking up already places to internship at next summer and all the different places and possibilities make me excited for next summer already.
6.

I just got back from an amazing trip to NYC and I loved every second of it. I can't wait to tell you guys all about it in a future post (It will be sometime this weekend, I promise!).
7.

The sun is finally shining and it is hot. I've just been waiting 7 months for the sun and heat. So it's a big deal.
8.

I cannot wait to see my little cousin Katie. She literally is the most adorable child ever and she just melts my heart. I played a video of her I have on my phone and it made me smile, it never fails to make me smile or feel better.
9.

At work I get to see the most beautiful sunsets over the lake.
10.
I had a great makeup and hair day!

New York, School, Summer, Work, & More

Hi Everyone!

It has been far to long since I have made a post. I blame it on school but let me just say you are in luck as I have finished school for the summer! That being said I will be back to regularly posting and not taking weeks and months off. I have some fun posts planned as I was just in New York City for a week and will be going to Buffalo, NY, and Canada in two weeks. So I will have many travel posts as well as outfit and makeup of the day posts. I am so excited to get back to blogging as I have actually missed it. You will have to hang around though for a while since I do not currently have internet at my new apartment (I will show you it in a post!) but I will be going home Friday so my first post will probably go up then. Unless I upload all pictures and write at work it won't be until then. So keep your eyes open for that.
