Invincible Summer Book Review (2014 Blogger Challenge ~ Topic 3)

Hi Everyone!

So again I have missed another post, but what is new really, right? This is my make-up Makeup Monday for the second week in a row. School has been crazy busy and I have just not had the time to sit and write a quality post. Today, though, I am doing the Third Topic for the 2014 Blogger Challenge. So I guess it is really not a makeup related post but it needs to go up by tomorrow so I am doing it today!

Let’s Get Started!

The third topic is supposed to be about a book. Now I could easily do a review on Harry Potter or the Hunger Games and tell you how amazing it is and how much I love it but I thought instead I would do something else. I chose for my book to review to do it on Invincible Summer by Hannah Moskowitz.

This is what is written on the back of the book:
Noah’s happier than I've seen him in months. So I’d be an awful brother to get in the way of that. It’s not like I have some relationship with Melinda. It was just a kiss. Am I going to ruin Noah’s happiness because of a kiss?

It is definitely a young adult book. It centers on a high school boy, Chase, and his summers at his beach home.  Because the perspective is from a guy I found so interesting because most love stories are from the perspective of the girl or third person, at least that I have read. The focus may be on him but it is also on his older brother, his younger sister and brother, and the family next door. It is a love story as I have said but it is very twisted and always keep you guessing on what is going on. This is because Chase is in love with his older brother, Noah’s, “girlfriend,” Melinda.

It is a quick and easy read so great for the summer, car rides, or just leisurely reading.

I highly recommend checking it out because I loved this book! You follow the journey of Chase's summers at the beach and all of what he manages to get into and what happens to his family.

Thank you so much for reading and taking a look!

My Skincare Routine (2014 Blogger Challenge ~ Topic 2)

Hi Everyone!

In place of my fashion post this week I am doing my blogger challenge post. For topic 2 we are to discuss our skincare routine so I am going to share with you what I do in the morning and night as far as skin care goes.

Let's Get Started!

In the morning I usually wake up with a clean face having washed it the night before so the first thing that I do is put on my moisturizer. I use Targets Up&Up Brand Moisturizer. With it being winter and freezing cold outside my skin gets super dry. So I moisturize like no other! This one is my favorite because it does not feel oily and is light and smooth all while fixing my dry skin.

After that I will then use one of my two acne medications. I use Differin 3.0 and Clindamycin. I have found that if I follow what I am supposed to do, which is use one at night and one in the morning, my skin gets super dry and peels. Instead I switch off in the morning and use one, one day and then the other the next and so on. I have found that these products have done wonders for my acne and are helping with my acne scaring along with keeping my acne away.

Recently I have started taking Biotin pills which is supposed to help with healthy hair, skin, and nails. I have not been taking it for very long but if you would like I can give an update on it and if I think they have had any effect on those things. Or if you have taken them let me know what you've found out.

That is it for my morning skincare routine and now I will be moving on to my night skincare.

To start off I have to take off my makeup from the day. I use Targets Up&Up Brand makeup wipes. These ones are the best for my skin I have found out. I have used other ones and they burn my face! To me that is not a good sign so I switched to these and do not have that problem.

After I have wiped off my makeup I typically get into the shower. While in the shower I wash my face with two different black head scrubs. I have horrible blackheads on my nose. My pores are huge and always clogged if anyone has suggestions on how to fix this please let me know down below! I use Neutrogena's and Clean & Clears black head scrubs. The clean and clear one I feel does the best at cleaning out my pores and I use it with the purple circle scrubber. I use this because it helps to pull the clogged up stuff out.

Finally in the shower I use a Bath & Body Works body wash to clean the rest of my body and scrub off all the dry dead skin. I love the smell of this one and makes my bathroom smell so good when I use it.

After hopping out of the shower I will use lotion to help with my dry skin before hopping into bed. I will then also use my moisturizer again to finish off the day.

So there you have it, those are all the products that I use daily for my skin.

New Years Inspiration (2014 Blogger Challenge - Topic 1)

Hi Everyone!

Let me share with you a few things before we start. I am taking part in the 2014 Blogger Challenge and I am so excited to be apart of it! The first topic that we are to make a post about is "New Years Inspiration." I am going to be sharing with you words and pictures that are inspiring to me.

Let's Get Started!

When I first received the message telling me that the topic to be discussed would be New Years Inspiration, I had no idea what to talk about. I do not think I am an inspirational person in any way. When I think of someone inspirational I think of people who have changed the world and the places that we live in, people who have made a big impact on others. The more I thought about it, though, the more I thought everyone can be inspirational. You never know who may hear you or listen to what you say and be inspired by it. You can be inspirational even if it only ever reaches one other person because, to them you have made an impact.

Being inspirational I found out does not have to be standing up on a big stage behind a podium and preaching something to a room of hundreds or thousands. It can be people, like me, siting in there pajamas, rapidly typing on the keyboards of laptops, and posting something for the world to see, never knowing if anyone will read it at all.

I guess what I am really getting at for my New Years Inspiration is to be Inspirational. Take chances and be outgoing. Now I am not a very outgoing person but my roommate and friend is and I find that inspirational. I wish I could be as outgoing as her and try to, so in sense she is inspirational to me.

Let me now share with you a few inspiring words from me to you.

Step out of your comfort zone at least once a week and say yes to something you would normally never do, make 2014 a year of new experiences.

Be confident and comfortable with yourself, "Your value doesn't decease based on someone's inability to see your worth." This year do everything for you, do not change yourself or do things because someone else wants you to. Do what makes you happy! You are perfect the way that you are and don't let anyone tell you differently.

Lastly make your relationships with people important. Surround yourself with people who care about you and love you and vice versa. Find and cherish the friends that you can call at 2am with anything and everything. Let people know that they are important to you.

To wrap up this post let me just reiterate that everyone is inspirational. No matter how many people that you reach you can be considered inspirational. So, my New Years inspiration for you and challenge is to in 2014 be inspirational.

Thank you so much for reading and taking a look!
