Vests & Blanket Scarves || Cold Weather Go-To's

Hi Everyone!

What are my staple pieces for the winter months? Vests and Blanket Scarves. They are cute, comfy, and so easily paired together. Today I am taking you through my outfit of the day including two of my favorite clothing items.

Let's Get Started!

What I'm wearing:
Seeing as I worked today, I am all buckled out. Everything that I am wearing today I purchased at The Buckle. I have linked below the items that I am wearing so you can check them out!

Plaid Scarf (They do not have the same scarf on the website so I have linked a Similar Scarf)

While my vest and scarf, that I wore today, may be from Buckle I have several places that I love to purchase vests and scarves from.
I have a vest and scarf problem, I own way too many!

The two other places that I purchase my vests from are Old Navy and J.Crew Factory. Both stores offer amazing and ridiculously cute vests that I cannot help but purchase. Keep an eye out on Old Navy vests because on Black Friday they will be 50% off! J.Crew right now is also having a great deal on their vests so if you are in the market I'd buy now.

Blanket scarves are a huge trend right now and can be found almost everywhere but, again Old Navy is one of my favorite places to buy blanket scarves and where most of mine are from. Another great place is Express
Now all of us know the traditional way of wearing a scarf, just wrapping it a few times around our neck but, with their large size, blanket scarves offer so many other ways to be worn.

One of the first ways is to literally wear it as a blanket/cape. Drape it around your shoulders and neck and you have a great way to stay warm in cool weather. With that you can also choose to belt it which is one of my favorite looks. I am wearing my blanket scarf with the pointed down triangle which is the way I normally wear it. All you have to do is fold the scarf into a triangle, tie the two ends together, and then loop it around your neck like an infinity scarf.

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Review || Blossoms & Beauty

Hi Everyone!

Thirty-six dollars for a lipstick, to me, that seems like a ton of money for one small item that I may not even use everyday. Unless a neutral color, lipsticks are something that I wear only on occasions. Unlike a dress, lipsticks are something that can wear off through the night, so why spend more then ten dollars on something that will only be worn every once and a while and that will wear off and I have to keep reapplying? (Which is a hassle, which likes to constantly reapply lipstick?)

When I first got into makeup and started watching beauty gurus; I was more concerned about the quantity of makeup I had over the quality (Everyone who has seen beauty gurus makeup collections knows what I am talking about, wanting to have a lot of makeup). After that stage, I became a firm believer in you pay for the quality, especially with makeup products. That turns out to not be the entire truth. There are some drugstore products that are amazing and can hold their own against high-end brands.

That leads me to the question is a thirty-six dollar lipstick something so outstanding that I should purchase it over buying a seven dollar drugstore lipstick? Or really, am I just paying for the YSL brand on the tube of lipstick. Today I am going to be telling you all about the lipstick that I was so lucky enough to get for Christmas (because I never would have bought it for myself) and my true thoughts on if it really outshines drugstore lipsticks and is worth buying.

Let's Get Started!

---------------
Like I mentioned I received my lipstick as a Christmas gift, I had picked out the color though, so I knew it would be a color I wanted to wear. I wanted something fun that I didn’t already have and that I would also like wearing on an everyday basis. But not a neutral! I went for a berry color (2 Pourpre Intouchable, Yves Saint Laurent – Rouge Volupté Shine). It is the perfect color throughout the whole year. It is a dark enough berry to wear during the winter but also bright enough to wear during the summer.  What makes it perfect for everyday wear is that it is sheer which allows you to have a lighter color or build it up to have a very opaque color; A color that lasts throughout most of my day.
---------------

-------------------
Here is where this lipstick, for me, really sets itself apart from other drugstore lipsticks that I have used in the past (even the butter lipsticks because I love how smooth they are). This YSL lipstick goes on so silky smooth, unlike anything I have ever used. Adding on top of that it is moisturizing and doesn’t dry out my lips the whole time it is on. Just putting it on for the first time I could tell the difference simply in how smooth the product applies to the lips. It is creamy and luxurious and that is the absolute best feeling.
-------------------

-------------------
An added bonus with this lipstick is that it really doubles as a lip-gloss in that it is shiny and glossy as if you put on a lip-gloss. So really, it’s two steps in one!

One thing to note is that YSL lipsticks have a smell and a taste. So if don’t like that in a lipstick I would stay away from these because it is very apparent. As for me, I like the smell (it is fruity sort of berry like) of it and the taste isn’t bad either, after a while of having it on I don’t even notice the taste.
-------------------

---------------
Now to answer my very first question, is it worth thirty-six dollars to buy this product? Personally, it is an absolute yes. I am in love with this lipstick and it will, more than likely, be the first lipstick that I completely use up because I wear it almost everyday. I feel so pretty and confident with this lipstick on, and you can’t beat that. Can I also add the packaging is gorgeous and of course you are somewhat paying for the brand name but that overall product does not disappoint, buyers regret would not be an issue after using this product.

ONYXprofessional || Professional Gel Remover Complete Kit Review || Blossoms & Beauty

Hi Everyone!

Today I am coming at you with a brand new product review, a gel nail polish remover kit. About a month ago I went and had my nails done and for a month I debated trying to take the polish off myself, going in and have them take it off, or just getting my nails done again.

Gel nail polish always seems to ruin my nails if I get it done to much and usually when I try to get it off my nails end up completely disgusting. Luckily for me while I was at Walmart, getting supplies to take off my nail polish, I stumbled upon this kit from ONYXprofessional. Seeing that it was only around $6.00 I thought that I would give it a try and report my findings to all of you.

-----------------------------------

Let's Get Started!

-----------------------------------

Suplies:
professional soak off
professional cleanser
six square buffer pads
two picks
twenty foil wraps
ten cleansing wipes

Below: My nails after having gel on for a month. It did hold up pretty well but as you can see my pointer fingers had just started chipping so it was time to get it off, not to mention they were grown out way to far!

-----------------------

Step One:
Each foil wrap already has a cotton pad on it, all you have to do is soak the pad, careful not to get the soak off everywhere. Place the cotton pad on your nail and wrap the foil tightly around your finger. I left the foils on for three to five minutes, it does not take long at all!

Step Two:
Once you remove the foil you are going to want to take the pick and gently scrape off the gel polish, it should easily scarpe off, if it doesn't wrap your nail back in the foil and have it soak for a little while longer. As you can see below some polish was left on the tips of my fingers, this is where the buffers come in. Using the buffer, buff your whole nail, it actually smooths them out and gets rid of any extra gel polish that may have been left on your nails.

Step Three:
After buffing take the cleansing wipes and the cleanser and wipe your nails off with it. The cleanser is a miracle worker and made my disgusting (looking and feeling) nails look and feel so much better!

And their you have it gel polish taken off in a few simple and easy steps. I was not expecting this product to work as well as it did but I am very pleased with the product, my nails have never looked or felt this great after having gel polish on. For the price I think it is a great deal for all of the items you get and the result you will receive. I would recommend that you check out this kit.

---------------------------

Now what fun would this post be if I didn't show you the nail polish that I put on after I took my gel polish off? I used Essie's hi maintenance and this milky pink is one of my new favorite colors. My nails look absolutely gorgeous and this color is the perfect mix between an almost neutral and a skin tone. Normally in the winter I go for dark colors but this one was just too beautiful to pass up.
